Sonic The Hedgehog

Yeah, betcha didn't see this coming.

Now this is something I'm really proud of, I wanted to take Sonic and make him a true anthropomorphic character and more realistic. And yes, I'm also providing my own backstory.

Species: Blue Hedgehog
Height: About 5'' 3
Weight: About 50-60kg
Home: Planet Mobius, Knothole Village (though he constantly travels)
Abilities: Superspeed (Top Speed is roughly faster than speed of sound), superb acrobatic skills, is able to use his quills as effective offensive weapons (most notably with his signature Sonic Spin move), can absorve energy which has unusual effects on him, causing him to become even more powerful.

Sonic Hedgehog is a young teenage Hedgehog from the planet Mobius. He was raised by his Uncle Charles throughout most of his childhood due to the sudden disappearance of his parents, Jules and Bernadette Hedgehog. Raised as best he could by his Uncle, Sonic lived a very carefree lifestyle, until in his pre-teens he discovered that he was able to run much faster than an ordinary member of his species, or most other species of his planet. His Uncle, a former scientist deduced that something in Sonic's DNA had caused him to be able to accelerate to great speeds without his body wearing out too much. He warned his nephew not to use his abilities too often, or to even keep them secret, for fear of him attracting too much attention. However, knowing he would not be able to stop his nephew due to his impulsive attititude and free spirit, he made him new clothes and trainers to wear, that reduced the level of friction he would generate whilst moving at super-speed.
However, soon stranger events started to occur around Mobius. Reports of more unusual disappearances began and soon it became known that an outsider to their world, a Human named Dr Julian Ivo Kintobor had arrived from parts unknown and had begun to take over parts of the planet. Nicknamed 'Robotnik' due to his vast expertry of machines, he had been gathering residents of the planet to use in experiments in order to take over the planet.
In short time his attentions were drawn to Sonic due to his unusual abilities and Kintobor attemted to capture him for experimentation. Sonic however, used his abilities to not only evade capture but to destroy his robotic pursuers. However, when he returned home, he discovered that his Uncle Chuck had been taken in his place as a way of luring Sonic to him. Attacking Kintobor's Base Of Operations head on, Sonic discovered the horrible fate that awaited all who were taken, they were to be roboticised, a process that transforms any living organism into a machine to do Kintobor's bidding.
He was soon captured shortly afterwards and discovered that his Uncle had already been roboticised, he also discovered that Kintobor had visited Mobius before, which resulted in the disappearance of dozens of Mobians, including Sonic's parents, Kintobor had also stolen technology developed by his Uncle which he used to create his roboticiser, after these crimes had become noticed the Royal families of Mobius attempted to make peace, when negotiations failed, Kintobor was banished from Mobius, unfortunately he was able to take his gathered Mobians and technology with him.
Now he had returned with a new army of robot Mobians. The name Robotnik seemed equally fitting know.
Sonic though distraught over his Uncle's loss, managed to escape with several others from his fortress, after reaching the cities, Sonic found that Robotnik had already taken over, forcing the Royal families and authrities of the planet to evacuate.
Sonic then learned of a hidden sanctuary named Knothole Village, a place that only a select few, including his Uncle, had knowledge of and was set up just in case of Robotnik's return. Along the way he rescued a young Fox, Myles Prower, who Sonic nicknamed 'Tails' due to the fact he had two tails that he was able to rotate to hover for brief periods. The two quickly became best friends, with 'Tails' viewing Sonic almost like an older brother. Soon, others joined them and they formed a group known as the Freedom Fighters to strike back at Robotnik with devastating consequences for the dictator. Eventually defeating most of his army, the Freedom Fighters disbanded but Sonic promised wherever Robotnik would appear next, he would be there to stop him.
